Ningbo Newland Announces 2026 Dragon Boat Festival Holiday Arrangement & Traditional Festival Introduction

As the time-honored Chinese Dragon Boat Festival approaches, Ningbo Newland releases official holiday schedules while sharing profound traditional folk customs of this millennia-old festival for global partners and clients.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also named Duanwu Festival, falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month every year, with a history tracing back over 2,000 years. It originates from people’s commemoration of Qu Yuan, a loyal patriotic poet in ancient China. A wealth of folk traditions have been passed down to this day. Dragon boat racing is the most spectacular custom: decorated dragon-shaped boats compete on rivers to recreate the scene of villagers rowing boats to search for Qu Yuan.
